If you play at Party Poker, Paradise Poker, or PokerStars, I think you already know why I chose this topic to write on today. Every tournament you decide to get into (unless you’re a real high roller) is flooded with players, most of the time upwards of 1000 people (or more). Do you ever feel like you have to get immensly lucky just to finish in the top 10% of the tournament?Scott Fischman, a two-time WSOP bracelet winner and apparently a master of wading through large fields,
writes an article on exactly this topic, and I think it’s worth a read. He notes that mentality is a big portion of success in these tournaments, and while it’s easy to think about the luck and the cards involved in these big, long tournaments, one must keep their wits about them.
